1.Purpose of These Guidelines
CaughtMyEye exists to give people a safe, simple, privacy-respecting way to share “missed connections” moments. These Guidelines explain what is acceptable, what is prohibited, and how we expect Users to behave when submitting posts.
By using the Platform, you agree to follow these Guidelines. Violations may result in post removal without refund.
2.Core Principles
CaughtMyEye is built on three principles:
- Respect — Treat others with dignity.
- Privacy — Protect personal boundaries; never expose identifying details.
- Safety — Keep the platform free from harm, harassment, and illegal activity.
These principles guide every rule below.
3.What You May Post
You may submit:
- Descriptions of a brief encounter or moment you wish to reconnect with
- Non-identifying physical descriptions (e.g., “blue jacket”, “curly hair”)
- General location references (e.g., “coffee shop on Market Street”)
- Positive, respectful, non-sexual compliments
- Content that is light, human, and safe for public viewing
Posts should feel like a memory, not a dossier.
4.What You May Not Post
The following content is strictly prohibited. Posts containing any of these will be removed without refund.
4.1Personal Identifying Information (PII)
You may not include:
- Names
- Phone numbers
- Email addresses
- Social media handles
- Workplace names
- Home addresses
- License plates
- Any detail that could reasonably identify a specific person
4.2Sexual or Explicit Content
No sexual descriptions, propositions, innuendo, or references to intimate body parts or acts.
4.3Minors
Absolutely no content involving individuals under 18. If you believe the person you saw may have been a minor, do not post.
4.4Harassment, Threats, or Abuse
Prohibited content includes:
- Insults
- Aggressive language
- Threats
- Stalking behaviour
- Attempts to track, follow, or locate someone
4.5Discrimination or Hate Speech
No content targeting individuals or groups based on:
- Race
- Ethnicity
- Religion
- Gender
- Sexual orientation
- Disability
- Nationality
4.6Illegal Activity
You may not post:
- Anything promoting illegal behaviour
- Attempts to solicit illegal services
- Content referencing criminal acts
4.7Defamation or False Claims
Do not make accusations, claims, or statements that could harm someone’s reputation.
4.8Commercial or Promotional Content
No advertising, marketing, or solicitation of any kind.
5.Tone & Conduct Expectations
CaughtMyEye is meant to be warm, human, and respectful. We expect Users to:
- Be kind
- Be concise
- Be honest
- Avoid pressure, desperation, or emotional manipulation
- Avoid any language that could make someone feel unsafe
If your post could make someone uncomfortable, reconsider submitting it.
6.Ephemeral Content & Post Removal
CaughtMyEye is intentionally ephemeral. Posts:
- Expire automatically
- Cannot be restored once removed
- May be removed at any time for rule violations
- Are not eligible for refunds or credits
This is part of our privacy-first design.
7.Moderation Approach
Moderation is a combination of:
- Automated checks
- Manual review
- Community reporting (if enabled in future versions)
We may remove posts for any reason, including borderline cases where safety or privacy concerns exist.
Moderation decisions are final.
8.User Responsibility
By submitting a post, you agree that:
- You have read and understood these Guidelines
- You are solely responsible for the content you submit
- You will not attempt to circumvent rules or moderation
- You accept that refunds are not possible due to our privacy-first architecture
9.Reporting Concerns
If you believe a post violates these Guidelines, you may contact the Platform through the designated support channel. We will review and act where appropriate.
10.Updates to Guidelines
These Guidelines may be updated periodically. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the latest version.
